Kathleen Salmas

Upon acceptance into the Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing, Ms. Salmas enlisted in the U.S. Army. Thereafter, she earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and was commissioned a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. While serving as an Army nurse, she achieved certification as a Registered Nurse and attained the rank of Major while also earning an MS in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.

After leaving the Army, Ms. Salmas took an interest in law. Kathleen earned a J.D. degree from Western State University College of Law and was admitted to the practice of law in California.

During her 27-year career as an attorney with Northrop Grumman Corporation, Ms. Salmas rose to Assistant Corporate Secretary of Northrop Grumman and was the Corporate Secretary of all Northrop Grumman subsidiaries. During this time, she specialized in corporate governance matters and SEC compliance.

When Northrop Grumman moved its corporate offices from Los Angeles to Falls Church, Virginia, Ms. Salmas chose to retire from the company and join The Food Lawyers®, focusing her practice on corporate regulatory compliance and corporate governance law for the firm’s food industry clients.
